????The Qingdao Municipal Bureau of Science and Technology and Municipal Bureau of Finance have jointly issued the Notice of Adjusting Award Sum for Science and Technology Prize of Qingdao recently to increase the award sum for all prizes for science and technology in Qingdao, the Qingdao top prize for science and technology increased to CNY 1 million for each, doubleprevious years.
????The Qingdao science and technology prizes are for those individuals and organizations that have made outstanding contributions to scientific and technological development, in particular, innovation resulting in strategic emerging fields, including ocean development, smart manufacturing, new materials, biomedicine, new energy, energy-saving and eco-protection, helping the transformation of scientific and technological achievements, application,orachieving significant economic and social benefits and boosting industry development. The award also gives focus to those projects that participated in national standards making, are self-designed/developed, or eco-friendly. The prize aims to stir the passion and creativity of the scientific and technological researchers in Qingdao.
????According to the new plan, the top prize increased to CNY 1 million from CNY 0.5 million for each, the 1st, 2nd and 3rd class awards of the municipal natural science award, municipal tech invention award and municipal scientific and technological development award increasedrespectivelyto CNY 150,000, 100,000, and 50,000 from CNY 80,000, CNY 40,000 and CNY 20,000. Qingdao established a prize for international cooperation for the 1sttime; the sum is CNY 100,000 for each individual/organization. (Wang Ping)
