| ????In 2010, the passenger throughput of Qingdao Liuting Airport exceeded 10 million persons for the 1st time. In 2015, the number climbed to 18.2 million persons, the cargo reached 20.8 tons, and the flight number reached 154,600. The compound growth rates during the 12nd Five-Year-Plan period are 8.4%, 10.4%, and 4.9% respectively. In 2016, Qingdao airport deeply implemented an international flight route network-ization strategy and further strengthened development of the inter-continental flight routes. By now 3 inter-continental direct flights from Qingdao to Frankfurt, San Francisco, Melbourne opened, and direct flights from Qingdao to Vancouver will be opened on 30th December, the direct connection between Qingdao and EU and US region thus can be established. It is known that passenger throughput of Qingdao airports will exceed 20 million persons. In the future, Qingdao will build its airport into a portal airport connecting with Japan and South Korea and build itself into a comprehensive hub city in the One Belt and One Road initiative. The city will further boost development of the new airport and Liuting Airport and enhance custom clearance efficiency and air traffic security level to build air corridors to raise the transportation capacity of airlines companies in the base, the city also will actively open inter-continental flight routes and whole-cargo flight routes to increase cargo throughput. |
