????On October 20th, the National Development and Reform Commission and Civil Aviation Administration jointly printed the Reply to Supporting the Construction of Qingdao Jiaodong Demonstration Airport Economic Zone. It marks that the Qingdao Jiaodong Demonstration Airport Economic Zone has been officially established. Qingdao has another functional zone of national strategic importance.
????With the planned area of 149 square kilometers, the Jiaodong Demonstration Airport Economic Zone will depend on the Qingdao Jiaodong International Airport under construction now, obey the law of airport economic development, adhere to green and ecological development, lead and promote the concentrated development of highly oriented modern service industry and high-end manufacturing industry, build up a industrial system founded on air transport and associated aviation industries, promote harmonious development between industries and the city and will be built into a regional aviation hub, the high-end airport industrial base, pioneering opening zone and modern ecologic intelligent airport zone.
????The establishment of the Jiaodong Airport Economic Zone will be beneficial for Qingdao to fully utilize the national pilot policy of opening low altitude flights, optimize the pattern of general aviation industry, attract key airport industrial projects, seize the promising opportunities of airport economic development and provide a strong support for promoting the transformation of regional social and economic development mode.
????Currently Qingdao is hastening the construction of Qingdao Jiaodong International Airport, the domestically first-class and world advanced regional hub airport. Focusing on the planning and construction of this airport, Qingdao has made this plan in advance and decided to take the lead to plan this airport economic zone as the new airport is under construction simultaneously.
